Interactions involving invasive species are of particular interest to his disseration work. His paper, "Evading Evasives: How Eurasian Watermilfoil Effects the Development of Lakefront Properties," received the "2013 Best 2nd Year Research Manuscript" award from the AED Economics Department at Ohio State University. James' interests in invasive species also led to his work on spatial-dynamic models of optimal control. These models address the complex decision problems policy makers and natural resource managers face when confronted by a spreading invasive species, forest fire, or disease. James has presented his work at workshops and conferences across the country, as well as in the classroom.Along with his research, James independently instructed a Data Analysis for Business and Applied Economics course, and was the teaching assistant for Environmental and Resource Economics. In 2014, AEDE awarded James the Bernie Evans Teaching Award for excellent teaching conducted by a graduate student.Advisors: H. Allen Klaiber and Sathya GopalakrishnanDocuments: Goodenberger_CV.pdf
